Faculty/Staff

As a FAMU University faculty, staff, or administrator, chances are students will inquire with you about major choices, finding internships, applying to graduate school, or job searches. The Career and Professional Development Center is here to help you effectively address your students’ needs. There are many ways we can work with academic departments and administrative offices to enhance our students’ career development:

  • Events and Programs Brought to You – With advanced notice, The Career and Professional Development Center staff can come to your campus location to present career-related workshops on topics such as resumes, internships, and interviewing, or we can also tailor a workshop to meet your needs. We can also collaborate with programs and events you are currently planning.

  • In-Class Presentations – Invite the Career and Professional Development Center to your class. The Career and Professional Development Center Staff is pleased to make available career-related programs targeting your students’ specific career needs.

To request a workshop for your class, group, or organization, fill out the Workshop Request Form.

Faculty Resources: Career-Related Classroom Assignments

One of the Career and Professional Development Center’s goals is to help bridge academic and career development while improving the career and graduate outcomes instrumental to the strategic plans of academic departments. To assist this process, we’ve gathered several career-related assignments that are “ready to go” or can be modified to meet specific needs. They come with student resources, grading rubrics, and other aides to facilitate teaching.

The Faculty Resources listed below encourages students to participate in individual career-focused activities as well as workshops to gain the knowledge and skills to obtain experiential opportunities as early as possible in their academic careers. We know that students who obtain relevant work experience and connect with employers while in school often find themselves better prepared and more competitive upon graduation.
