Current student 1st time in Handshake
Every current FAMU student has an account in HireARattler powered by Handshake. Students will go to famu.joinhandshake.com and login with their iRattler credentials (username & password).

Handshake Privacy Policy (Students/Alumni)
Student/alumni Handshake accounts, may opt-in or opt-out of notifications or promotions. When setting up the account, the “profile visibility” setting controls how you will receive information. You have three options: Community, Employers, or Private.
You may also opt-out of notifications by clicking the “unsubscribe” link found at the bottom of each Handshake email.

FAMU email notifications from Handshake
Students have two areas that they receive emails and notifications from Handshake.
- Outlook – FAMMail (@famu.edu)
- “Messages” tab within the Handshake system
FAMMail has two categories for emails, “Focused” and “Other”. Handshake emails will be located under “Other”. When setting an appointment, registering for an event, etc. make sure to check the “Other” folder to view any notifications. You may also add handshake@notifications.joinhandshake.com as a contact in our email. When doing this, Handshake emails will now filter to the “Focused” section of our FAMMail.
