Welcome to FAMU’s Environment Community!
About Environment:
If you have an interest in generating sustainable solutions in the energy, water, and food sectors to grow and meet the needs of the global economy, then the School of the Environment is the perfect choice for you. The small faculty to student ratio gives students increased access to our core lab and mentoring opportunities for a rewarding undergraduate and graduate experience. You can pursue careers in Environmental Law and Environmental Journalism, Environmental Restoration & Waste Management, Environmental Monitoring & Instrumentation, Environmental Toxicology/Risk Assessment, Sustainability Science, Environmental Policy, and much more.Â
What does Professional Development (PD) look like for Environment:
Your professional development will vary based upon your area of concentration. Keep in mind that the top skills needed within environmental fields include active listening, critical thinking, and reading comprehension. You will gain an ample amount of experience by interning in our labs or with global, public, or private organizations. This will allow you to gain specific knowledge that generates practical solutions through research and commercialization of technologies that advance renewable energy, increase access to safe drinking water, and promote natural resource conservation.  For more information, please contact Sadiki Perry at sadiki.perry@famu.eduÂ
