The Career & Professional Development Center offers career conversations on relevant professional development topics for students. Our Course Catalog features said conversations that can be tailored to any student audience.
Each course is mapped to at least two (2) of the 8 career readiness competencies employers expect of college graduates, and CAS Standards, as well as course descriptions, learning outcomes, and intended target audience. To get started, complete this Career Conversation Request Form today. You will be contacted within two to three business days to discuss your request. Please keep in mind that the Career Conversation Request Form must be submitted three (3) weeks prior to the requested date. Take note that the submission of the Career Conversation Request Form does not mean that your request has been approved.
Career Conversations are available either in person or virtually.
- Requests outside of regular business hours (Monday – Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM)
May be accommodated depending on staff availability but are not guaranteed. A minimum of 10 attendees is required for evening/weekend presentations that should start no later than 6:00pm.
Requestor Responsibilities
- In-Person conversations: You are required to reserve the physical space and email the said location to the assigned presenter at least 72 hours in advance. Smart rooms are preferred as the presenter will need access to a computer and projector.
- Virtual conversations: You are required to create the virtual space and share the link with the assigned presenter at least 72 hours in advance. When creating the space, make sure you grant the presenter co-host permissions.
If a career conversation needs to be rescheduled once it has been confirmed, a new date will be accommodated only if the presenter’s schedule permits. Contact cpdcenter@famu.edu or 599-3700 with questions.
