The candidate should be familiar with coding, e-commerce, messaging/chat, website development, AWS Console, and working with open-source platforms like Prestashop.
Responsibilities will include acting as a liaison with the developer/programmers to maximize the performance and user experience of the website.
The prototype in place is the baseline and we are looking for help in the areas where required to improve the user experience.
Objectives:
The intern will determine what U/X improvements will be required to launch the marketplace with an inventory of tours and accessories and payments being accepted by Stripe/Apple Pay.
The intern will discuss with users to determine what they need to create accounts and then offer tours and accessories, using what’s currently possible via the prototype-built Prestashop.
How students produce these results are to be determined, but likely will include one or more of the following:
-A report that includes a review of likes and dislikes of the current design and recommendations for incremental improvements.
-Then an outline of the next steps suggested to launch based on what is currently possible via the prototype with cost-effective modifications and changes.
- Students should be familiar with how marketplace websites function-i.e. Shopify, Airbnb, Conde Nast-etc.
- Students will also need to be able to curate tours and accessories using what is currently possible via the prototype.
- Students must be comfortable communicating with users in a manner that is responsive, friendly, engaging, caring, and reliable.
- Students must know how to use Canva, Google Docs, Stripe, etc
The minimal commitment is 4-6 months to review performance and fit.
Internship requirements pay particular attention with respect to the following:
- The extent to which the internship is tied to the intern’s formal education program by integrated coursework or the receipt of academic credit.
- The extent to which the internship accommodates the intern’s academic commitments by corresponding to the academic calendar.
- The extent to which the intern and the employer understand that the internship is conducted without entitlement to a paid job at the conclusion of the internship.
