The production assistant/technical intern will help cultivate the innovative film culture at Juming Delmas Studios by providing on-set assistance during the production process of filmmaking and video production. This role requires someone who is assertive, organized, and attentive. As a Production Assistant/Technical Intern, you will work closely with our production team to support the execution of video projects and learn essential technical skills necessary for a career in the industry.
About the Role:
Administrative:
- Running various errands such as picking up equipment, supplies, or food for the crew.
- Keeping the set clean and organized throughout the production process.
- Providing assistance to actors, directors, and other crew members as needed.
- Assisting in filling out paperwork, such as release forms or location permits.
- Relaying messages and instructions between different departments on set.
- Helping with costume changes and ensuring that wardrobe is maintained.
- Helping to set up and clean up catering services for the cast and crew.
Management & Equipment
- Keeping track of and replenishing supplies such as water, snacks, and other essentials.
- Helping to organize and manage background actors or extras during filming.
- Crowd Control: Assisting with crowd control and ensuring that bystanders do not interfere with filming.
- Helping with the setup, operation, and breakdown of filming equipment.
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the production coordinator or other senior staff members.
Requirements:
- Working towards or completion of Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Film Production, Media Studies, Broadcasting or other related fields.
- Working knowledge of advanced filming equipment and techniques preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks as needed
- Working knowledge of Google Suite
- Familiarity with video editing software is a plus but not required
- A personal laptop
- Ability to work on a team and take initiative
- Stay on for a minimum of two semesters
