OVERVIEW
Crestron Electronics continues to experience rapid growth as we invest in resources and create new opportunities; as a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a Summer 2024 Intern to join our Corporate Real Estate & Workplace Organization in Rockleigh, NJ as a Sustainability Intern. This role is designated for a hybrid work arrangement. Candidates must be commutable to Rockleigh, NJ. As an Intern, you will be an integral member of the Corporate Sustainability team, responsible for helping to create and implement sustainability initiatives.
Crestron Interns and Co-Ops can expect to be challenged with meaningful projects and tasks alongside professionals and subject matter experts in the field. Interns and Co-Ops are assigned a dedicated mentor who will be responsible for their development and acclimation to the company. Crestron will also provide a variety of training and networking opportunities to participants in the program, seeking to present participants with a comprehensive experience that enhances technical and non-technical skill sets and to prepare students for their professional careers. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure and Manage Corporate Green House Gas Emissions Data (Scopes 1,2,3) through third party software platform.
- Communicate Trends, Impacts, and Perspectives of material sustainability topics to internal and external stakeholders using charts and other digital illustrations.
- Draft Policies and Create Reports of the company’s Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) activities and programs for both internal and external communication.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability considerations into business decisions.
- Conduct research into a variety of ESG endorsements and certifications such as ISO 14001, UN SDGs, CDP, SBTi, TRUE Zero Waste and make recommendations to align with these specific initiatives.
- Research regulatory compliance requirements that impact company operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
General Requirements
- The ideal candidate should have a keen interest in sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment.
- Must have a keen understanding of Sustainability topics including circular economy, sustainable development, climate change, human rights, and sustainable procurement.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university working toward a bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week during the entire internship period.
- Must be commutable to and from the Rockleigh, NJ area for the duration of the internship period.
- Must have permanent, unrestricted work authorization in the United States now and in the future.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, in particular PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams required.
Other Skills:
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, creative, have a solid work ethic and have a desire to produce a quality product.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skill.
- Positive, personable, and able to work cohesively with other across various divisions.
- Understanding of the Electronics Industry and its environmental impacts a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening) with the ability to articulate work at different levels of the organization.
- Inquisitive individual with a desire to learn, possessing a long-term desire to work in the Corporate Sustainability space.
