Director
Tamara serves as Director of the Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC) at Florida A&M University, where she leads university-wide efforts to prepare students for meaningful careers and connect them with high-impact opportunities. Her work centers on building a comprehensive career ecosystem that helps students build confidence, gain relevant experience, articulate their value, and successfully navigate the transition from college to career. As Director, Tamara provides strategic leadership for career coaching, employer and alumni engagement, experiential learning, and career readiness frameworks. She collaborates closely with faculty, corporate partners, and alumni networks to expand access to internships and competitive employment opportunities, emphasizing early student engagement from matriculation to graduation. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, Tamara actively contributes to the career development profession at both regional and national levels. Her professional engagement includes work with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), where she has participated in leadership development initiatives and contributed to national dialogues on advancing career readiness and student equity. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with higher education leaders and industry partners to strengthen talent pipelines and champion student success. Reven Fennell
Career Pathways Coach
Raven Fennell serves as a Career Pathways Coach, Adjunct Instructor, and dedicated advisor to two student organizations at Florida A&M University, where she brings extensive expertise in student career readiness, higher education administration, and employer engagement. Raven was named one of Florida’s Top 15 Career Coaches in 2026 by Influence Digest. Within the Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC), she supports undergraduate students across all disciplines and serves as the primary liaison to the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. Her work focuses on key career literacy areas including professional storytelling, elevator pitch delivery, behavioral interview preparation, and strategic networking. Her Approach to Student Success Driven by a deeply student-centered approach, Raven prioritizes individual empowerment, active listening, and holistic development to create an encouraging environment where students build self-efficacy, leadership skills, and long-term career confidence. She finds immense fulfillment in advising student leaders, helping students discover their intrinsic strengths, and guiding them as they turn their education into impactful professional journeys. Outside of her roles in the classroom, student advising, and CPDC, Raven enjoys traveling, spending quality time with friends and family, and staying actively involved in the FAMU campus community.
