Career Conversations Requests
The Career & Professional Development Center offers career conversations on relevant professional development topics for students. Our Course Catalog features said conversations that can be tailored to any student audience.
Requestor Responsibilities:
- In-Person conversations: You are required to reserve the physical space and email the said location to the assigned presenter at least 72 hours in advance. Smart rooms are preferred as the presenter will need access to a computer and projector.
- Virtual conversations: You are required to create the virtual space and share the link with the assigned presenter at least 72 hours in advance. When creating the space, make sure you grant the presenter co-host permissions.
- Requests should be made within regular business hours (Monday – Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM)
Accommodations may be available depending on staff, but are not guaranteed. A minimum of 10 attendees is required for evening/weekend presentations that should start no later than 6:00pm.
If a career conversation needs to be rescheduled once it has been confirmed, a new date will be accommodated only if the presenter’s schedule permits. Contact cpdcenter@famu.edu or 850-599-3700 with questions.

Career Conversation Request
Each course is aligned with at least two of the eight career readiness competencies, CAS Standards, course descriptions, learning outcomes, and the intended audience. To request a session, the Career Conversation Request Form must be completed in its entirety to ensure proper scheduling and planning. Incomplete submissions may result in delays or the inability to process your request, and all requests must be submitted at least three weeks in advance. For questions or assistance, contact us at (850) 599-3700 or cpdcenter@famu.edu.
