2021 Internship Program:
TCW sponsors a summer internship program for undergraduate and graduate students desiring to pursue a career in asset management or a related field. Along with the valuable learning experience the interns gain with their assigned groups, TCW arranges a program of events designed to enhance the summer experience with us. Interns enjoy opportunities to meet directly with some of our senior executives, attend classes/lecture series led by key investment personnel at our firm, and enjoy networking events. The summer intern program typically runs from mid-June through mid-August, a total of 8-10 weeks.
Due to the uncertainty around COVID, our 2021 summer program will be run in a virtual format. All program events can be accessed virtually.
Primary Responsibilities and Qualifications:
This summer internship position will be remote and the intern will have the opportunity to work closely with TCW’s Emerging Markets team in Los Angeles. This internship will provide exposure to emerging market fixed income, with opportunities to learn about sovereign and corporate credit research, in addition to currency and local rates analytics. The intern will work closely with the team’s research analysts and strategists on investment recommendations, gaining exposure to macroeconomics, various analytical tools, and financial modeling. The intern will also have the opportunity to present an investment recommendation to the team at the end of the internship.
Additionally, as part of our summer internship program offerings, the intern will have opportunities to meet directly with some of our senior executives, attend classes/lecture series led by key investment personnel at our firm, and enjoy networking events designed to connect with other interns and colleagues.
Qualifications and Desired Attributes:
We are seeking an undergraduate intern who has completed either their sophomore or junior year with an interest and relevant coursework in macroeconomics and/or finance. Strong quantitative and communication skills. Interest in Emerging Markets and familiarity with Excel a plus. GPA of 3.3 or above.
