Seeking Journalists, CX Debaters, Editors – Opposition Research Internship – Remote – Summer Fall 2021

All Internships are remote. Applicants must apply on our website, https://www.nesbittresearch.com/opposition-research-jobs/. Interviews will be held in February, 2021.

You will work with an amazing team to win some of the most critical progressive campaigns of the 2022 election cycle. You will achieve advanced professional work experience in political campaigns, opposition research, political writing, fact-checking, rapid response, and writing for digital communication. Top tier progressive political campaigners, investigative journalists, future top law school grads, and policy debaters will benefit from this experience.

Ideal candidate will have coursework in political science, journalism, or experience writing and editing for publication in a collegiate or professional news writing environment. Interns will work on all aspects of political opposition research including vetting, research, fact checking and copy editing at the highest levels of American political campaigns.

This is a paid ($15/hour) Summer Fall 2021 internship that runs from mid June to November 2021. Precise start and end dates are negotiable.

Great candidates are most of the following:

  • Able to work 20 to 40 hours per week and night, weekend, and unconventional work hours
  • Dedicated to building a more progressive America
  • An exceptional writer comfortable writing and editing in a professional news writing environment
  • Curious, very curious
  • Experienced in a production news or research environment (collegiate level or up)
  • Able to turn complex and diverse information into clear summaries with a consistent point of view
  • Great attention to detail
  • Skilled in web project management for complex projects
  • Comfortable with web apps for communication, project management, and research
