Overview

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Adriana Kajon to conduct independent work to support basic and applied ongoing research efforts.

The position offers a good opportunity for immersion into different aspects of virology and for interaction with a multidisciplinary environment at LBRI, the University of New Mexico scientific community, and external collaborators. The Postdoctoral Associate will be responsible for the design and evaluation of experiments, development of new ideas to promote current research in the lab and applications for funding, as well as presentation of findings at national and international conferences, and preparation of manuscripts for publication.

Qualifications

The qualifications required for this position are Ph.D. in Virology, with 0-3 years of post-degree research experience.

Ability to design experiments, and analyze and interpret data. Excellent written and verbal communication. Willingness to work at BSL-3 containment. Proficiency with specialized procedures such as cell culture, protein purification and analysis (immunoprecipitation, Western blotting), immunofluorescence microscopy and DNA techniques including cloning, PCR, qPCR is highly desirable. At least one publication as first author.
