The Academy

The Heritage Foundation’s acclaimed Young Leaders Program has launched The Academy, an online program for rising leaders! We had a successful inaugural cohort with 200 fellows, and subsequent fall 2020 and spring 2021 classes.

The Academy has been crafted to educate students, young professionals, and civic leaders on the foundational principles of American political thought and the important policy debates facing our country. This program will increase your leadership capabilities and help you engage more meaningfully in your communities and more confidently in policy debates.

Through a series of two private one-hour webinars each week and intimate cohort meetings, participants will engage with Heritage scholars, policy experts, and movement leaders, study the foundational principles of American political thought, explore current issues in foreign, domestic, and economic policy, take part in in-depth leadership training, career exploration panels and job skills seminars, and participate in reading groups and discussions.

This program is offered at no cost to participants. Please apply by clicking on the green “Apply Externally” button by May 1, 2021 for the spring program.

This is a part-time, educational fellowship with The Heritage Foundation. Participants should expect to commit 3-5 hours a week. There are 2 weekly pre-recorded lectures that fellows can watch on their own time, with corresponding live Q&A sessions. There are also small-group discussions every other week about the content, as well as an optional research project.

This program runs every spring, summer, and fall with 200 participants.

Please contact Kelley Babphavong at youngleadersprogram@heritage.org with any questions.
