Full-Stack Developer Master’s Intern – REMOTE

Role Description

As a Full-Stack Developer Intern at SkyIT, you will be actively involved in the design, development, and implementation of fleet management and web applications. You will work across the technology stack, from frontend interfaces to backend services, supporting the deployment of scalable cloud solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop software that directly impacts fleet operations while working with cross-functional teams.

This program has been an incredibly valuable and enriching experience, offering hands-on exposure and real-world insights that are rarely available at this stage. One of the most unique aspects is the opportunity to be mentored directly by the CEO, gaining firsthand guidance, strategic perspective, and leadership insights that are invaluable for long-term growth. Importantly, this is the final session in which the program will be conducted, making it a truly exclusive opportunity that will not be repeated in the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain full-stack features for fleet management applications, including frontend and backend components.
  • Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and other developers to build scalable, secure, and performant web applications.
  • Contribute to API design and integration, utilizing RESTful and GraphQL services.
  • Implement responsive and dynamic frontend applications using ReactJS, NextJS, and related technologies.
  • Support backend development primarily with frameworks such as Django REST Framework (Python) and Express (JavaScript).
  • Participate in application deployment and management on cloud platforms, notably Microsoft Azure.
  • Employ version control systems (Git) and containerization tools like Docker for collaborative development and deployment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and continuous improvement of software systems.
  • Document code, designs, and processes to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing.
  • Learn and adapt to the constructive criticism given through mentorship sessions, taught by the CEO.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or completed a Master’s degree in Software Engineering and Computer Engineering,
  • Strong academic performance from a recognized university.
  • Demonstrated proficiency or coursework experience with full-stack development technologies, including:
    • Frontend: ReactJS, NextJS, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS
    • Backend: Django REST Framework (Python), Express (JavaScript/Node.js)
    • API development and consumption (RESTful, GraphQL)
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience or familiarity with containerization using Docker and version control tools like Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively within agile teams.
  • Good communication skills and eagerness to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Must be motivated students,eager to make a meaningful transition from academic life to professional settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven portfolio or projects showcasing full-stack development skills, especially related to fleet or logistics management, web apps, or cloud-based solutions.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and CI/CD pipeline concepts.
  • Knowledge of database systems such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
  • Certifications related to cloud platforms or software development best practices are a plus.

Internship Details:

  • Our flexible internship program is centered on mentorship, innovation, and project-based learning, empowering interns to gain valuable experience in a dynamic professional environment.
  • All applicants MUST be a university master or above.
  • We are a Canadian-based company.
  • All positions are remote.
  • We require mandatory meeting availability (depending on your role).
  • Work hours are based in MST (Mountain Standard Time).
