A part-time internship position in a growing non-profit, Preschool through 5th grade Christian school, that also serves as an outreach organization in the city of Baton Rouge. The Development and Marketing Intern assists in expansion and execution of marketing and fiscal development of Gardere Community Christian School (GCCS) in helping build a sustainable financial foundation. The Development and Marketing Intern reports to and partners with the Development and Marketing Coordinator as they consult with the School Principal and Executive Administrator, a Board of Directors, and GCCS Leadership, helping spearhead financial development efforts as GCCS grows.
·Assist in carrying out GCCS’s annual marketing fundraising plan to help in creating and executing a strategy for a sustained base of monthly and annual individual donors, foundations, faith-based entities and corporations, securing support to undergird the yearly budget.
·Assist in planning and executing training for Board, staff, parents and volunteers to carry out annual plan, encouraging a true partnership in these efforts
·Assist in maintaining ongoing relationships with all supporters including our social media network
·Assist in the marketing, management and organization of special events that support the fundraising plan, donor cultivation and awareness of events to benefit GCCS as part of a team with committee members, the staff, and volunteers
·Assist in the coordination, preparation, and organization of all marketing materials that support the fundraising plan and donor cultivation as part of a team
·Assist in developing and tracking proposals and reports for grants, foundation and corporate fundraising
·Assist in accurate Donor Data Entry, communication notes and gift processing
·Complete and provide timely reports from the Donor database as required
·Creatively add input in identifying ways to improve ongoing marketing and fundraising campaigns
·Manage social network and media platforms with regular postings to include campaigns, events, and promotions
·Quickly become knowledgeable of GCCS programs (academic and extra-curricular), policies and procedures
·Professionally represent GCCS within the community at special events and meetings
·Maintain compliance with all GCCS policies, procedures and requirements. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements as required by this position
·Complete necessary documentation accurately and timely, preparing spreadsheets, summaries, updates, letters, memos, and additional correspondence as required
·Attend and participate in staff/faculty meetings and training as required, present as needed/requested
·Perform general office tasks, special assignments, projects, and other duties as required as part of the office team
·Minimum of 2 years’ classes geared to this position
·Demonstrates excellence in organizational, motivational and communication skills, displays ability to manage time and priorities, makes sound decisions under pressure and deadlines, and clearly expresses ideas verbally and in writing
·Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive and database management
·Willingness to learn and work successfully as part of a team, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers
