AB is looking for a Summer Intern to support the Wealth Management legal group. As the summer intern, you will execute your responsibilities in partnership with the team of attorneys that support the Wealth Management business unit. This is a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
You will provide assistance and support to the attorney team who provides legal and regulatory advice to Wealth Management’s senior management and staff, financial advisors and associates. Your responsibilities include assisting with the update, maintenance and ongoing review of account documents, including implementing revisions based on regulatory or business changes.
We will invest in you as you attend meetings on new regulatory initiatives and participate in compliance-training efforts. You will use the knowledge you gain to support the development of compliance policies and procedures. This role may also be asked to assist in broader firm-wide legal and compliance initiatives and projects.
About the Team:
The team of attorneys that support the Wealth Management business unit works closely with the business teams through collaborative partnership to provide thoughtful and timely advice. The team interacts with many different roles at the firm including: advisors, associates, operations specialists, compliance professionals, etc. The team is also spread across various offices.
Skills You Showcase:
Your intellectual curiosity in U.S. and global financial products and services and willingness to learn new areas of the law and compliance as they relate to these rapidly evolving businesses, will be used when you update legal documents, research statutes, help with updates to firm documents, policies and procedures based on regulatory changes, and undertake miscellaneous legal research projects.
Your strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial as to work collaboratively while juggling multiple priorities . When you present your research on a particular assignment, you will need to utilize good judgement and succinct interpersonal communications skills to inspire confidence in your analysis.
Since the team you support is spread across various offices, your comfort in using technology is paramount.
You must also enjoy working collaboratively (i.e., with attorneys, advisors, associates, operations persons, compliance professionals, etc.) to support the legal team as it solves complex issues in a commercial manner on tight timeframes.
