GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Early Career Co-Op provides support as directed through assignments within a line of business or division while receiving exposure to the broader organization. Co-Ops integrate into the organization through day-to-day activities and project work. Co-Ops operate as team members on larger initiatives, but also work independently on smaller projects and tasks.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Your days will be filled with fast-paced on-the-job training and development as a vital part of the team. Most of your daily tasks will consist of Corporate Security meetings, on site learning, and working with the Corporate Security managers on current and future projects. In meetings, you won’t be expected to be seen and not heard; your ideas will be vital to the company’s strategies going forward. You’ll meet with senior leaders, soaking in their experience and insights, while developing your own skills based on their guidance. This isn’t an “internship” where you’ll be making copies and fetching coffee for employees. You’ll be serving as a Corporate Security partner to our business, and a valued part of the team, gaining valuable experience and getting first-hand insights.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
In this first year, our EWS & Security Intern/Co-Op program consists of: retail, office, large asset programs and strategic solutions to optimizing our corporate security/investigations programs. It is intended as a potential multi-year program where previous participants can be invited back for a second rotation to gain further exposure and refine their skills in this unique function of our business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will learn the basics of alarm Integration from how an alarm is generated to the communication systems used to transmit the signals to the operations center.
- Be able to understand how the systems interprets the signals and why human intervention is a necessity for alarm response.
- Coordinating with all internal stakeholders to accomplish goals and objectives
- Shadowing our investigations team and understand why even the small things makes a huge difference in a successful apprehension of a suspect.
- You will also be able to understand why bank security may have absolutely nothing to do with a threat against a bank or it’s money.
- Exposure to national events to understand threat assessment and how it affects our business.
- Work with executives and senior management on special projects important to the long-term success of the bank
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Enrollment in Criminal Justice (or Related) degree program with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Relevant internships and co-op program experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to multitask and be flexible
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to demonstrate initiative
- Ability to think strategically and long term
