This program is a 10-week full-time opportunity that provides real work experience with a team in your business area. You will be aligned to projects to lead or contribute to while also participating in networking, development, and career exploration activities. Our Corporate Interns can apply for future full-time roles during the program and have an increased likelihood to receive an offer for a post-graduation role.
The Summer 2024 program will run June 3rd – August 9th, 2024. Virtual onboarding activities will also take place May 29th -31st, 2024.
This is a hybrid position with 3 days (generally Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in the Woonsocket, RI office. The other 2 days each week will be working remotely from home, office, or another location of your choice. No housing or housing stipend will be provided, but interns will be given the opportunity to connect with each other prior to the start of the program to coordinate housing if desired.
The hourly rate is $55 per hour with 40 hours/ week, no work on July 4th (company holiday), and two days of paid leave. Please disregard the range listed.

The Retail Front Store Strategy team stewards the development of the company’s long-term merchandising strategy while aligning with key priorities within total merchandising strategies. Our team also identifies and cultivates new business opportunities within the overall front-store strategy and develops partnerships with leading CPG suppliers to drive innovation and profitability.
You will gain valuable work experience and participate in:
– Contributing directly to sales and margin goals in assigned category.
– Analyze profit and loss information for the category, develop sales and margin projections, and assist Category Manager in P&L reconciliation
– Analyze relevant data and incorporate findings and recommendations into Category Plans (i.e., optimal SKU mix; ExtraCare loyalty program; promotional programs) for merchandising programs Drive tactical execution of day-to-day plan activities (e.g., builds off-shelf plans, track promotional period, and perform post appraisal to take corrective action if necessary)
– Collaborate with an internal team of CVS professionals in Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Design, and Store Operations
– Analyze sales records and inventory levels of current stock; seek new, alternative foreign and domestic suppliers
– Develop and maintain a strong understanding of current competition; searches out new competitive opportunities and makes recommendations.
– Keep abreast of changes in the market. Research customer product preferences, supplier prices and the competitive environment
– Explore and explain trends in sales, assortment, and customer behavior over time and analyze its implications on retail strategy
– Identify opportunities within pricing, promotion, and assortment to help meet sales and margin goals
Work visa sponsorship is available for this role. This includes participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.
Required Qualifications
– Meet educational requirements (see education section)
- 2+ years of professional work experience (Post undergrad)
Preferred Qualifications
– Demonstrated leadership experience and initiative
– Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
– Previous consulting, healthcare, and or retail experience preferred but not required
Education -Currently pursuing a MBA, MPH, MHA or other related MS degree
-Have an anticipated graduation date between September 2024 and August 2025
